DEVLOG 08
Dear Ex World Community,
We hope this post finds you well and that you've been enjoying your adventures around Ex World! As we approach April, we wanted to take a moment to update you all on the progress we've made over the past month.
Firstly, we've been hard at work on server optimizations and migration to Unreal Engine 5. This is a major undertaking, but we believe it will greatly improve the overall stability and performance of the game. Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition, and we're excited to share that we're making great progress.
In addition, we've been focusing on improving the life skill systems in the game. We've added new recipes and crafting options, as well as enhancing the gathering and processing mechanics. We believe these changes will make life skilling in Ex World even more engaging and rewarding.
We've also made updates to combat mechanics, with tweaks to skill balance and improvements to AI behavior. We want combat to be challenging and exciting, and we're constantly working to refine and improve the experience for our players.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of what we've been working on over the past months of February~March:
Programming:
• Developed a new system for handling player movement that is more responsive and accurate
• Improved the performance of the game by optimizing various systems, such as AI pathfinding and object pooling
• Implemented new UI elements and features, such as a quest tracker and tooltips for item descriptions
• Added support for new game mechanics, such as crafting and harvesting
• Reduced number of RPCs and tick rates to improve optimization

Game Design:
• Designed and implemented new quests and storylines for the game world, with branching paths and multiple outcomes
• Balanced and adjusted various gameplay mechanics based on player feedback and playtesting
• Worked on designing new game systems, such as a reputation and faction system

Concept Art:
• Created concept art for new environments and locations in the game world
• Designed new armor sets and weapons for players to acquire through gameplay
• Worked on creating new creature designs and animations for enemies and wildlife in the game world

Audio:
• Composed new music tracks and sound effects to enhance the immersive experience of the game
• Implemented a new system for dynamically changing music based on player location and actions
These are just a few examples of the many things we've been working on over the past month. As always, we appreciate your support and feedback as we continue to develop and improve the game. Stay tuned for more updates in the future!
Finally, we've been listening closely to your feedback and suggestions, and we're incorporating many of these ideas into our development roadmap. We want Ex World to be a game that you all love to play, and we're committed to making it the best it can be.
As always, we appreciate your support and enthusiasm for Ex World. We'll continue to keep you updated on our progress, and we look forward to sharing more exciting news with you soon!
Best regards,
The Ex World Development Team
