Hello again, everyone! This month we’re going to focus on teams, some members of those teams, and their proudest moments in the past month while developing Ex World Online. Don’t forget if you would like more information, or would like to interact with our community, please join our discord here: https://discord.gg/2Nwar7hQS4
For this Devlog, we will be focusing on the 2D team and 3D team.
From the 2D team:
For those who do not know, the 2D team’s job is to create 2D art and design for the 3D team to implement into the game. They put together drafts, designs and concepts all ranging from NPCs, player characters, armors and costumes, environment landscapes, and building sketches that would be integrated into the lore and game.
The work that one of our designers and community managers “Maki”, some of you guys who have had the pleasure of joining her in voice chat while she streamed on Discord and Twitch. Maki is extremely proud to finally share a concept of a much-loved character from the lore, Sera the Great, a knight of The First Era. As a pioneer in the Templar practices, she founded the book of Knighthood, which details many fighting techniques useful against the denizens of Tumac and other hostile factions. Maki stated it was a refreshing change to work on lore characters after months of mob concepts. Expect to see more of her art from there!

We also hired an exceptionally passionate 2D artist and avid gamer, so expect to see more of his work in next month's development log. That’s right Skadii, the pressure is on
From the 3D team:

Working on character models and translating from 2D to 3D is hard work, but our very own veteran modeler who has been in the industry for over 20 years has made the process look almost effortless. Please give Mr. Sacheep wongtasaeng a shoutout and a follow-on LinkedIn! He’s pretty old school but definitely knows his craft. If you compare the work from our earlier devlogs with our lower fidelity models to these new ones, you wouldn’t believe they were created by the same artist, which is just a testament to Mr. Sacheeps skills!
The team says they’re most proud of this, as it is bringing Ex World’s characters to life in vibrant and creative ways. They’re excited to see what the game brings to put their work into motion and see you, the player, running around, adventuring and causing mayhem.

Another sentiment that is echoed around is that it is quite challenging at times, working on so many different things in a small team; from creating props, environment models, bug fixes and other elements, it's always rewarding when you complete a task or finish modular kits to outfit an entire village. Seeing the small pieces of our work fit into the game's overall cohesive structure is an ecstasy of its own.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this brief update on our progress. Please remember we have lots of social media channels to spread the word about Ex World Online! It’s through you, the players that we work to create a world that will inspire you to play and come back time and time again!
Let me know in the discord or forums what you’d like to see next!
Best regards,
